Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 2 is the government's recommended programme for health and social care staff in England. It was created to improve understanding of autistic people and people with a learning disability, helping staff provide safer, more person-centred care.

  • 90 minutes of pre-course e-learning before attendance
  • A full day of face-to-face training, split into two sessions
  • Session 1: Learning disabilities, Session 2: Autism awareness
  • Co-delivered by trainers with lived experience
  • Covers communication needs, reasonable adjustments, person-centred care, sensory differences, health inequalities, and diagnostic overshadowing
